Kids Operate Excavators, Pan For Gold At Dig It Days
I had a sandbox in my backyard growing up where I would play with my Tonka crane. It had a working steel arm and bucket that let me imagine I was operating the real thing. I still haven't had the opportunity to get inside the cab of a real dump truck or excavator, but this Saturday, many kids will get that chance.
The 1st Annual Yellowstone Dig It Days will be unearthed on Saturday at 2949 N. Frontage Road in Lockwood from 10am to 4pm. Local industries will come together to offer the "biggest display of static heavy equipment, and emergency services vehicles ever assembled in Yellowstone County." Kids will get the chance to learn, inspect, and operate the real thing.
Here are some of the free activities families can enjoy at Dig It Days:
Operate heavy equipment like backhoe, excavator, or even a mini track hoe
Play “King of the sand pile”, find prizes and use toys
Drive Big Tractors
Sit in a big Dump Truck
Get pictures with heavy equipment
Pan for gold
Learn about safety before digging
Decorate a concrete stepping stone to take home afterword
Admission is $5 per person or $10 for a family with the first 500 kids getting a T-shirt and Dig It Days toy hard hat so arrive early.
