Less mowing, more snowing. Cold, Wet Weather Expected in Billings

The grass in my yard is just now starting to turn faintly green, as it slowly begins awaking from its winter dormancy. I'm probably still a couple of weeks away from yelling at my teenager to fire up the old trusty lawnmower. Some of my neighbors down the road (who clearly take better care of their lawn than me) have actually gotten in at least one mow already, although it didn't look like they really had much grass to cut.

Cold, wet weather to impact  Montana into early next week.

Don't get too comfortable with those 70-degree temps on Friday (4/8), because a potential spring snowstorm is right behind those unseasonably warm temperatures. In a Tweet today (4/7) the NWS Billings says it's a little too early to predict exactly how much snow we could receive, or where will get the most precipitation, but much cooler temps and snow are expected.

Don't put away your snow shovels quite yet.

Last weekend when I was cleaning out my car in preparation for a road trip, I picked the ice scraper from the passenger side floorboard and thought about putting it in the shed till next fall. A little voice in my head suggested, "how about the trunk, instead?" Probably a good idea, because it sounds like I might need it next week. The weekend forecast is calling for a rain/snow mix on Saturday and Sunday with daytime highs around 50.  Monday - Wednesday next week is when it could get interesting.
