Miranda Lambert + RaeLynn Write and Perform New Song ‘Lie’
Ever since RaeLynn sang for Blake Shelton‘s team on season 2 of ‘The Voice,’ Miranda Lambert and her hubbie have taken the break-out country star under their wing. Not only is RaeLynn crashing at the country couple’s pad in Los Angeles, she and Lambert have been writing songs together. Their first duet is called ‘Lie,’ and last night, RaeLynn tweeted a video of herself and Lambert singing the tune.
In the video, Lambert and RaeLynn are seated in front of two microphones and an array of instruments. RaeLynn is strumming on a guitar and singing about a lover that just can’t be honest with her. The lyrics tell the story of a boy who just keeps going behind the girl’s back — but never coming clean about it. As RaeLynn begs him to see the situation through her eyes and to tell her that he wants her, Lambert chimes in with beautiful harmonies.
The former ‘The Voice’ star tweeted the video to her 70K followers last night, and then Lambert retweeted the clip to more than 1 million of her fans, adding ‘Love it!’ to the message. So far the two country stars have gotten a lot of positive feedback from the song, including hundreds of Twitter messages from fans.
After seeing the positive response from her fans, RaeLynn tweeted again, “Thanks for all The amazing feedback about “lie” I’m so excited love my fans so much!”
Although RaeLynn didn’t take home first prize on ‘The Voice,’ it’s looking like she still won big. Her relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Blake Shelton is obviously serving her well. We’re looking forward to more Lambert and RaeLynn duets in the future, but for now, you can watch the clip below.
