Montana weapon laws are pretty lax compared to most states, but for some reason it stands its ground when it comes to switchblades, or automatic knives. However, there was a pretty big change last month (if you consider 1.5 inches big):

My job here requires me to be active on social media, and in doing so I see a lot of political opinions that I don't agree with. And today was hard. Hard to just sit there and watch all of the anti gun wackos raising hell about how better guns laws would have prevented the nightclub shooting in Orlando...

The movement across the nation to raise the age of legal tobacco purchases is gaining momentum. In today's world, the only people I would imagine who would publicly oppose this would be 18-20 year old's who use tobacco. It's hard to say no to this campaign without sounding like an advocate for tobacco use...

Montana does not have a statewide ban on "Distracted Driving", although some cities do have restrictions specifically relating to cell phone usage while behind the wheel. For the states that do have distracted driving laws, one woman recently learned that drinking a cup of coffee while driving counts as "Inattentive Driving"...

So with the elections over, I was surprised to hear that Colorado and Washington passed referendums legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
