The Sweet Smell of The City
I grew up on a farm Southeast of Havre, and daily you'd walk outside and breathe in the sweet clean air (well if the wind was blowing in the right direction and not form the corrals) On most days it was good. Is that possible living in the middle of the biggest city in Montana, also known as Billings? Yes, yes it is. Every once in a while you can catch the sweet smell of flowers or the smell of fresh rain. As I was walking out of my office at the Double Tree Inn the other day, I experienced a relaxing moment. As the doors opened, a soft warm wind swept across me and the sweet smell of flowers wafted along with it. It was perfect, it took me back to when I was a kid on the farm. We had a lilac bush (Syringa vulgaris) right next to our house and when it bloomed I loved the smell so much. Do you ever smell something and it takes you back to time in your life when you didn't have a care?
