My favorite all-time movie is probably "Hunt For Red October". If my wife calls and I'm at home and she asks me "what are you doing" and I say watching TV and she asks what I'm watching and I say "guess" she automatically knows it's Hunt For Red October. Between my Blue Ray copy, whenever it appears on TV and Netflix I've probably seen it 75 times... and I could be understating the real stats.

Of course the Jack Ryan series has featured other actors such as Harrison Ford in "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger" (the 2nd and 3rd films in the series) and Ben Affleck in the 4th film "Sum of All Fears". The 5th film, coming out this Christmas Day, will be Jack Ryan: Shadow One starring Chris Pine.

As with all blockbuster films with a great author at the helm the books are even better and many of the Jack Ryan novels are still waiting to be turned into the next action thriller.

The man responsible for all of this entertainment is the great, now late, Tom Clancy who has died at the far too young age of 66. He has left an indelible mark on the American film industry and thrilled movie audiences all over the globe. His legacy is in stone and he is the gift that keeps on giving. I can't wait until Christmas Day!
