Angels Come in All Shapes and Sizes
Being the mother of a 13 year old daughter I can't imagine Bailey having anything on her mind other than what boy she might like, who's on Snapchat or what she is going to wear to school. I can't imagine her having the conversation that Casandra Lorenz had with her parents at the age of 14.
Before God called Casandra home, she told her parents Tina and Drew Lorenz that she wanted to set up a fund to help other families with children going through what she was.
In July of 2009 at the age of 14, Casandra was diagnosed with a at stage four, rare muscle cancer, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Casandra was called home and lost her battle on March 13, 2012.
Keeping their promise to their daughter, Cassandra's parents started Cassie’s Gifts of Love, a nonprofit to help other families.
As a result, the organization has helped 17 families with travel costs, prescriptions, treatment and other day-to-day expenses.
Cassie's Gifts of Love presents the second annual Angels Ball on Saturday, February 6th from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at The Billings Hotel and Convention Center.
The Angels Ball will benefit local families of children with cancer.
This is a 21 and over prom style fundraiser, with a silent auction, food, cash bar and music by DJ GQ.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the Rio Grand Casino, by calling Tina at (406) 794-9096 or Melissa at (406) 534-1811.
