Devon Still’s Emotional ESPY Speech About Daughter With Cancer Was Perfect
The Cincinnati Bengals' Devon Still may not be an all-pro or a future Hall of Famer, but he is leaving his mark in the world of sports -- and beyond.
While Caitlyn Jenner may have gotten the lion's share of attention during Wednesday night's ESPY Awards, Still himself had a moment in the sun when he won the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. His young daughter, Leah, has endured a high-profile battle with the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
Leah's struggle has been very public and she was even able to watch her dad play this past season while he juggled the demands of the NFL and being a dad to a girl dealing with the nightmare that is cancer.
Introduced by LeBron James, Still's speech was inspiring and if it doesn't leave you with at least a little bit of watery eyes, then you might not be human. It's that moving.
And by the time Leah herself makes an appearance via satellite (doctors said she couldn't travel), you can be forgiven for just outright weeping.
