What's not to love about pizza?

Ten of Billings' finest chefs, restaurants, and food trucks will bring their best pizza game to The Billings Depot on Sunday, September 10 for the inaugural Pizza Palooza. A collaboration with the Depot and Magic City's Best, the event is from noon to 4 p.m. and is open to all ages.

A quest for the best pizza in Billings.

Pizza traces its roots to 17th-century Naples, Italy. Immigrants brought the dish to the US in the late 1800s, where it quickly became one of our favorite foods. Americans now consume over 3 billion pizzas annually. That's 100 acres of pizza per day or 350 slices per second. Pepperoni is the number one topping, with fans scarfing down over 251 million pounds of the salty meat on their pizza each year.

Don't tell us "There's no good pizza in Montana."

If we had a dollar for every time we've heard people say there is no good pizza in Montana, we'd have at least a hundred bucks in our pocket. New Yorkers are particularly snobbish when it comes to pizza (perhaps rightfully so), but let's be honest... There are some phenomenal pizzas being served at Montana restaurants and food trucks. Ten of Billings' best will be competing for the title of "Best Pizza in Billings" at Pizza Palooza on Sunday.

Thick or thin?

Pizza is highly subjective, so we're curious to see how the panel of judges will vote, as well as which pie will take home the People's Choice award. You can get seven taste tokens for $28 (additional tokens available) and there will be live music, a full bar, and non-alcoholic drinks available. Tickets can be purchased in advance HERE or at the gate on Sunday.
