Remember To Unplug Your Slow Cooker
Living on my own I use my slow cooker at least twice per week. You can make healthy, tasty and nutritious one pot meals by simply browning your choice of meat and dumping some vegetables and spices into the pot in the morning. At night you come home to a piping hot meal often as good as you would find in many restaurants.
Yesterday morning I put ground turkey (that I browned with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper), a can of diced tomatoes, 3 ounces of barbeque sauce and 2 cans of beans (black and pinto) into my crock pot and came home to a great bowl of chili. Then I went about my evening with the intention of unplugging my appliance and putting the leftovers in the refrigerator. As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Unfortunately I fell asleep before completing this task and the result is in the photo above. Ugh.
