Stran Smith Is Coming To Town!

Super excited to see Stran Smith this weekend!  Who is he, you might ask?  Well he just happens to be the 2008 World Champion Tie-Down Roper.

He's lost his best friend and his best horse in separate traffic accidents, suffered debilitating strokes and endured career threatening  injuries to both his knee and shoulder.  Yet through the tough times, he qualified for the Wrangle National Finals Rodeo 10 times and became the national pitchman for Wrangler Jeans.  Through all of this he persevered.  Pretty amazing guy, right?

Stran Smith said:

“I’ve never wanted my ability to take me somewhere that my character couldn’t keep me. That’s always been my goal. This is just the right time. I wouldn’t be half the person I am now if I’d won it way back when. I see how much further I’ve come physically and spiritually. And to be a man of honor and integrity is first and foremost.”

What a sweet and humble guy!  I'm taking my kids down to see him this weekend to meet him and get his autograph, for the boys(really for the boys!).   He's going to be at Shipton's Big R West from 11am-2pm on Saturday, February 16th,  with our very own Andy West(he's doing a live broadcast there too!).  So maybe I'll see you there!
