Today is a super sad day for Country Music.  Not only did the legendary Don (the Gentle Giant) Williams pass away, Troy Gentry of the duo Montgomery Gentry was killed in a helicopter crash today.

The duo Montgomery Gentry was set to perform in Medford, New Jersey tonight.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration the helicopter crashed into a wooded area near the Flying W Airport in Medford.

No other information about the crash has been release at this time.  Troy Gentry was 50 years old.

In other sad news Country Music Hall of Fame Don WIlliams passed away at the age of 78 after a short illness.

Over the course of his career Williams earned 17 number one country hits.  He is famous for songs like, “Tulsa Time,” “Good Ole Boys Like Me” and “It Must Be Love.”

Today has been a day that has rocked the country music world.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Don Williams and Troy Gentry.
