Temperatures are expected to rise back in to the 90's on Monday in Billings, and another long stretch without rain will increase the chance of wildfires, according to the National Weather Service.

"Isolated Severe Storms" are predicted for Yellowstone County, with some storm cells producing hail that could be hen egg size, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperature is forecast to be 102 degrees today in Billings, with lows tonight in the upper 60's.

High temperatures, low humidity, windy conditions, and possible thunderstorms are creating "critical fire weather conditions" for Billings and the surrounding area.

Looking out the windows west of Billings from the top floor of the Doubletree Hotel I said to Pence, "It looks like an Iraqi dust storm out there." You could not only hear the wind howling, you could see it.

Supt Upham: "After consulting with the National Weather Service and giving sincere consideration regarding the weather, Billings Public Schools will be cancelling school tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27. "

The National Weather Service released preliminary snowfall reports showing 6.0 inches fell in parts of Yellowstone County on Wednesday. On Monday, NWS reported 10 inches of snow fell in the northwestern part of the county. Carbon County had the high mark for Wednesday's snow storm with 7.5 inches in Red Lodge as of 10pm Wednesday night.

Hydrologists say the Clark Fork is on track for record flooding. According to the National Weather Service, the latest projection is for it to reach the 13-and-a-half foot range in Missoula, and some of the high country weather stations show 60-to-70 inches of water has yet to melt out...

The Gazette reports that, with the shortest month of the year in the rear view mirror, Billings had its second-snowiest February on record, adding almost 32-and-a-half inches of powder to a year that already ranks in the top 10 for snowfall, according to the National Weather Service...

It's no secret. I am a fair weather guy and the fair weather sure has felt nice lately. Our neighbors near and far have been hit pretty hard with winter, but it seems we here in Billings have come out well this year. In fact, they are saying that we will be in the lower to mid 60's by mid week and the weekend...

It seems daily during the late afternoon we are all checking the Billings weather forecast.  Doing our own storm chasing via the internet.

It’s not even officially Fall yet and there are hints of snow. Believe it or not, according to our National Weather Service Yellowstone National Park is expecting snow at higher elevations!
