Zac Brown Band got more than just Crossroads episode out of working with Shawn Mendes. The pop star co-wrote the band's brand-new single, "Someone I Used to Know."

Readers can press play above to hear "Someone I Used to Know," the Zac Brown Band's first new single in nearly two years. The song blends the band's trademark harmonies and musical talent with a recurring sitar melody and finger snaps -- a healthy mix of both ZBB and Mendes' styles.

"It's been a long time comin' / Couldn't keep on runnin'," Brown sings in the chorus of "Someone I Used to Know," a reflection on moving on from your past when it weighs you down. "Had to hit rock bottom to know / When you keep on losin' with the path you're choosin' / Then it's time to let go / Of someone that I used to know."

"Someone I Used to Know" is a turn back to the experimental for the Zac Brown Band; it would fit in well on their 2015 album Jekyll + Hyde.

“This is an exciting time for us,” says Brown in a press release. “We’re hard at work in the studio and really proud of "Someone I Used to Know." It’s a special track and is just the beginning. There’s a lot more to come.”

"Someone I Used to Know" is available for download and streaming now. Brown and company will debut the song during a Friday night (Nov. 9) appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
