It's that time of year when local radio stations race to be the first to play the sounds of the season.

Here, at Cat Country, we started this week ourselves. We all have our favorites. But I saw an interesting list of the top 50 country Christmas songs today. Apparently, the one that gets played the most across the country is, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," by Vince Vance and The Valiants.

But that still didn't land it in the top 5.

I know that everybody's preferences are different. So, I'm adding a couple that should be in the top 10. "Hallelujah" by Manheim Steamroller. Both "Thank God For Kids" and "Hard Candy Christmas" came out the year I started in radio, so they always take me back to my beginnings.

But it just isn't Christmas at my house until the only lights that are on are on our tree and John Denver sings "Christmas For Cowboys."

Leave some of your favorites on here and we'll play some of them before we take off on vacation.

And, now that I've given you some of my favorites, here's the national list of the top 5 Christmas country songs.
