Today is National Hot Dog Day, so I looked some things up.

The ingredients apparently do NOT contain animal hooves, lips, or tails as my mother told me when I was young.

A "Three Way" from Skyline Chili in Cincinnati is about as close to being "the perfect hot dog" as I've ever had. Ole's Country Stores in Missoula had a great deal while I went to school there. Three hot dogs covered by as much chili as the little hot dog boat could hold for one dollar. Of course, that was 35 years ago.

I was never a fan of the hot dogs wrapped in dough. And if we're gonna wrap it in dough, why wouldn't we just have a corn dog?

Why we sell 10 hot dogs in a pack, and 8 buns in a package, is one of life's great mysteries.

"Hot Dog" by Buck Owens was always kinda catchy.

While "Hot Dog...The Movie" wasn't great, but still makes me smile.

I can't tell you the difference between a hot dog, from a brat, from a sausage, from a wienerschnitzel.
