Our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet this week is an awesome dog named Ebenezer. This two-year-old Heeler mix is delightful, and he's ready to find his forever home now at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings.

Ebenezer arrived at the shelter as a stray. A concerned citizen found him almost two weeks ago roaming the streets. Initially shy, Ebenezer quickly warms up to strangers. Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at YVAS, said the pup loves humans, and this trait was evident during his in-studio visit today.

Ebenezer will be a fantastic companion dog.

The shelter is listing Ebenezer as a red and black ticked Heeler mix. He's a medium-sized dog who could use some extra treats and pup cups, as he's a little on the thin side at 38 pounds. His tri-colored markings are quite handsome, and he has those dog eyes that seem to peer into your heart.

The shelter noted that Ebenezer may require patient introductions to other dogs. We found him to be surprisingly calm, considering his breed and age. After meeting us today, he promptly plopped down on our studio floor to chill.

He seemed mildly interested in treats, and more interested in toys and play time. This dog craves attention and is eager to please. He's smart, and with just a little training, he should be a quick learner.

Lost your dog?

Check Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter first. Wulf said the shelter has been active with stray dog intakes in the past few weeks (currently they have ten unclaimed strays). Strays are held for 72 hours for owners to claim, before they're checked out by a vet, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and ready for adoption.
