Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt Performing at 2016 Grammy Awards
Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt are among the latest artists to join the lineup of performers set for the 2016 Grammy Awards.
The announcement was made in an ad for the awards show that aired during the New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos playoff football game on Sunday (Jan. 24). In addition to Underwood and Hunt, the promo named Justin Bieber and Pitbull as performers. That afternoon, journalist David Wild confirmed the news on Twitter.
On Wednesday (Jan. 27), the Recording Academy confirmed via a press release that Underwood and Hunt will be performing together. Underwood's newest single, "Heartbeat," features background vocals from Hunt. Both artists are nominated for Grammys this year: Underwood is up for Best Country Solo Performance, for "Little Toy Guns," while Hunt is vying for Best Country Album, for Montevallo, and the all-genre Best New Artist award.
Country quartet Little Big Town are also among the artists who will be performing at the 2016 Grammy Awards, as are Adele, Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd. The 2016 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Feb. 15 beginning at 8PM ET.
On Friday (Jan. 30), Underwood will begin her 2016 Storyteller Tour. The trek will be Underwood’s first in-the-round tour, as well as her first since the birth of her son, Isaiah. Hunt, meanwhile, has numerous dates on his 2016 tour calendar, including a spot at Bonnaroo in June.
