We've all wondered, at one time or another, how the massive task of keeping our roads functional and safe... every single day... is handled. Thankfully, the City of Billings has seen that there is a need for this education, and they are ready to show you!

A Public Outreach Presentation

The City of Billings is taking over the Billings Public Library Community Room this coming Wednesday, October 25th, at 12 Noon to educate you and the community on issues that we... really don't know much about.

Well, at least, most of us don't. How does the traffic control system in town know when to switch lights? How are our roads maintained? What about winter maintenance? All those questions, and any others you may have, can be answered this coming Wednesday.

Who Will Be On Hand?

According to the City of Billings, the Street-Traffic Superintendent, Signals and Lights Supervisor, and two Equipment Operators will be on hand to answer everything from spring sweeping to storm clean up... to traffic signals and street lights... to milling, paving, and snow plowing... and more!

The big discussion will be the innovation and technology the team uses in Billings, along with the strengths of our programs that are in place to keep our day-to-day running smoothly.

Plus, plenty of props on hand... like a 5-foot tall "GridSmart" fish eye traffic camera, a signal light (bigger than they look from the ground), a bucket of salt & sand mixture for snow & ice management, and paving material.

What Are Your Thoughts?

Do you think Billings does a good job keeping our roads and traffic under control? Do you have ideas? Let us know on App Chat or on Facebook!
