Is Montana really a place?

Usually, it's the rest of the world poking fun at "Florida Man." It's become a running joke, typically involving stories about wacky criminal activities or general outlandish behavior committed by people who live in the great state of Florida. No offense to anyone from Florida, but ya'll have some crazy stuff going on in the Sunshine State.

This story is not about another drunken Floridian fleeing from police while naked. No, dear reader, it's about Montana. Montana, as seen by a Florida comedian named Josh Pray. His video below has wracked up thousands of views on social media. It's pretty funny, but are his perceptions of Montana accurate? Let's break it down.

The comedian shared five reasons Montana should be on everyone's bucket list. Let's start with his first point.

1. "If you like to throw a few craft beers back, Montana might be your place to go."

True. His commentary about our love for local beers is spot on. He adds that you'd best be a local if you want to start a brewery in Montana since we're more apt to support our locally-owned brewery instead of some out-of-state enterprise. Also true.

2. Montanans are independent.

The comedian says, "[If] you want to learn how to take care of yourself and really be an independent person. Go to Montana." In his hilarious video, he claims Montana is the least populated state in the US. (He's close, but that's not true. Wyoming is the least populated state). He says Montana should be called the state of survivors because we deal with isolation and miserable winters. True.

3. Montana is great for nature lovers.

Pray said, "If you are into animals and nature look no further because, in Montana, it is said that the animals outnumber humans now." He's right about that. There are twice as many cows as people in Montana, not to mention hundreds of thousands of deer, elk, moose, bears, coyotes, and antelope.

4. You'll save money in Montana AND you can gamble.

Josh says you'll save money in Big Sky Country because we don't have a sales tax. Of course, he probably doesn't realize that housing prices are insane and so are property taxes. Pray is also amazed that there are casinos everywhere.

5. Montanans are relaxed and our phone numbers are easy to remember.

The comic is blown away that the entire state shares the 406 area code, adding how much easier it is in Montana to remember the phone number of a girl you might meet at the club. Montana's lone area code could soon be a thing of the past; phone providers are preparing to eventually add another area code as our population continues to climb.

He also thinks the Treasure State is probably pretty chill because cannabis is legal. Arguably true.
