Martina McBride to Headline Grand Ole Opry Concert for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The color pink isn’t something most people normally associate with the Grand Ole Opry, but in October, to help spread awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, country’s most venerable institution will be going pink for the third straight year.
Martina McBride has been announced as the headliner for the third annual Opry Goes Pink concert, to be held October 22 in support of Women Rock for the Cure.
McBride will lead a mostly female lineup, including Kellie Pickler, Lauren Alaina, Edens Edge, and Ronnie Milsap. In honor of the occasion, the Opry’s backdrop will turn pink, as will its website, which will also feature an online auction, starting October 18.
Five dollars from every Opry Goes Pink ticket will go to Women Rock for a Cure, as will all of the proceeds from the online auction. For ticket information, visit Opry.com.
