Miranda Lambert Reschedules Florida Concert to Attend Friend’s Funeral
Miranda Lambert has rescheduled her performance this coming Friday (Feb. 3) in Tallahassee, Fla. at the Leon County Civic Center in order to attend a funeral for her childhood friend, Mark “Tex” Adams, who passed away last week. The new date for the show has been set for Thursday, May 17.
Lambert tweeted about her friend’s “tragic accident” last week, clearly very upset by the unexpected and untimely news. “Thanks for the prayers,” Lambert tweeted to her followers after reading their thoughts and concerns. “He was a great person. He is now in heaven with his dad. Please call your friends, especially the ones you haven’t talked to in a while or maybe are not on great terms with and tell em u love em. It’s so hurtful when it’s too late to do that.”
Adams was killed in a terrible traffic accident in Florida, when he pulled over on the side of the road to assist a stranded motorist and a vehicle drifted to the shoulder, striking both cars. Adams was the only person killed in the crash. Lambert and Adams had been friends since they were both nine years old. News of her friend’s death came just days following the passing of her father-in-law, Blake Shelton‘s dad.
Both of Lambert’s current opening acts on her On Fire Tour, Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young, will also be on the lineup for the new Florida date. Taste of Country sends our deepest condolences and well wishes to Lambert during this time.
