Montana Homes Ranked Second Highest Risk For Wildfires
Montana offers some of the most beautiful scenery the United States has to offer. For those who choose to live outside the cities and surround themselves with picturesque views of nature, they often fail to consider the threat of wildfires.
A recent study conducted by LawnStarter, shows that nearly 20,000 Montana homes are in the high, or very high, wildfire risk zones. This puts the state second only to Colorado for wildfire threats.
“LawnStarter’s wildfire analysis shows that even though California is the most populated state in the country, Montana has a higher percentage of homes at high or very high risk of wildfire damage. This data should serve as a wake-up call for all Montana homeowners,” says Ryan Farley, co-founder and chief operating officer of Austin, Texas-based
For the people who choose to live in Montana to be surrounded by nature instead of man-made structures, they would likely not give up their dream out of fear of wildfires; however, it only makes sense to consider the risk when building in a fire prone area.
