Above is the view from my bedroom window when I was growing up in Choteau, Montana.

Today, I was lucky enough to see a friend I've known since 3rd grade!  Carla and I haven't seen each other since our 10 year class reunion (Choteau is cool enough to invite me, even though I only went to school there through the 8th grade.), but it really didn't seem like that long.

It's amazing how someone who you've known for so long makes you feel like you're home again.  Sure there was catching up and such, but there was also a lot of laughing, lots of talk of "back in the day".

I can't believe how jealous of her that I am.  Her parents still live in the same house that she would take me to for lunch, or a sleep-over.  I remember thinking about how cool it must have been to live in town like that.  The very first time I ever saw MTV was at her house.  They actually had cable! And Carla brought up how I used to be afraid that Big Foot was going to get me!  Funny the things you remember.  Carla gets to spend the 4th of July in Choteau.  That's a really big deal.  So much fun!

I feel so fortunate to still have some kind of relationship with my oldest of friends.  Sometimes you can go home again!  And you don't even have to be there!
