Perk Me Up!
So it seems anything you eat or drink these days effects you somehow negatively. There is always some study, somewhere, from some doctor, saying how all is BAD for you. Well a new study finds that women who consume a little extra java have a better time keeping off depression.
Women who drank four cups of coffee or more a day had a 20 percent reduced risk for depression. 3 cup a day drinkers had a 15 percent decreased risk, compared to those drinking one cup or less daily. These authors tracked almost 51,000 women, averaging age 63, who were participating in the Nurses' Health Study.
None of the women reported being depressed at the beginning of the study and none were on antidepressants. So drink up, and better be happy with your cup of coffee!
