Study Of Millennials Ranks Billings #24 Best Place To Live
Livability.com unveiled their 2019 "Top 100 Best Places to Live" and Billings was the highest Montana city on the list at #24.
Using a study of more than 1,000 millennials as a guide, the survey determined affordability and job opportunities were big factors in the rankings.
The cities on this year’s list represent the best of the best when it comes to affordability and opportunity. These 100 cities are not just fantastic places to live in terms of their amenities, education, health care and infrastructure, they are places where young people can build amazing careers and communities. -Livability.com Editor-in-Chief Winona Dimeo-Ediger.
Livability.com cited a strong economy and top-notch infrastructure as main reasons for the Magic City's high ranking and gave this description of our climate: "Brutally cold winters, amazingly beautiful summers."
The survey also noted the following reasons Billings is one of America's best places to live:
Favorite Weekend Activity: Folks here love to go hunting on the weekends (in season). From deer to elk to ducks, hunting is a big-time hobby here.
After-Work Meetup Spot: Walkers, a trendy downtown spot with an impressive cocktail menu that serves everything from pork belly street tacos to Korean beef bowls.
Best Local Beer: The Good Times Belgian blonde from Thirsty Street Brewing Company, a relatively new brewery in downtown Billings.
Beloved Bookstore: This House of Books, a downtown spot that also doubles as a tea shop.
Free Way To Have Fun: Hike around the Rimrocks, an iconic Billings spot with views of the city and surrounding areas.
Other Montana cities that made the top 100 were Helena (#27) and Great Falls (#97).
