Before heading to The Headwaters Country Jam near Three Forks this summer, The Kentucky Headhunters are making a stop in Billings first!

They will perform an outdoor concert at Manny’s on June 28.  Tickets for the show go on sale Friday May 25 at 10am at Ernie November, Rimrock Mall, by phone at 866-300-8300 or online this weekend at 1111presents.com.  Tickets are $23 in advance and $25 the day of the show.

The Kentucky Headhunters got their start back in 1968 as “Itchy Brother”.  Fred and Richard Young, together with cousins Anthony Kenney and Greg Martin created their own brand of rock and roll.  The Young brothers and Martin began performing as The Kentucky Headhunters in 1986, adding brothers Ricky Lee Phelps and Doug Phelps to the membership.  With the release of their 1989 debut album “Pickin on Nashville”, the band charted four consecutive Top 40 country singles.  The Kentucky Headhunters have released seven studio albums, two compilations, and twenty singles, of which the highest-peaking is a cover of the Don Gibson song “Oh Lonesome Me” which the band took to number 8 in 1990. In addition, the band has won three CMA Awards, an ACM Award and a Grammy.
