What Is This?

There's one of these buggers in every bag of my jerky and I don't know what it is.

I certainly didn't order it. Come to think of it, I didn't ask for that cotton at the top of my Advil bottle either, but I got some anyway.

Wait a minute. Now that I think about it, I get more than I asked for in a lot of products.

I bought 12 golf balls. Is one box enough? Nope. Four boxes (sleeves) all put inside ANOTHER box.

Did you ever buy a case of paper towels or toilet paper at Costco. Rolls of product wrapped in plastic individually, THEN wrapped again!

If you don't want a bunch of packing bubbles, and cardboard boxes that are five times the size of the product you ordered, then don't order anything from Amazon Prime.

I got off track there. So, can anybody tell me what this "thingy" is?
