In a recent article in Marie Claire about country's reigning queen, her mom says Carrie was much more comfortable outside with animals and less so around people. Carrie herself said in the issue "We were never a huggy family. Or a 'let's talk it out' family," adding "I'm not a mushy person at all." The champion of the fourth season of American Idol also said that her hockey playing husband, Nashville Predator's Mike Fisher makes up for her reticence. "He is Mr. Nicest Guy on the Planet," Underwood says. "I skew the other way."

Some people are their own worst critics. Working in radio I've had the opportunity to meet many celebrities in the music industry and having met the golden-locked diva (at Metra Park back in January) I discovered that she's really no diva at all. She couldn't have been nicer or more personable. I would even call her chatty. I cracked a joke about how exciting it was to meet "the wife of Mike Fisher" since I'm a hockey fan. Carrie laughed (an acknowledgment that her husband gets asked about her far often that the other way around) and said "I'll tell him... he'll love that!" So Carrie, if you read this, don't be so hard on yourself.
