With construction on 27th Street for water line installation, Zimmerman Trail being closed intermittently, and the arrival of Vice President Mike Pence, Downtown Billings will become a mess of traffic congestion beginning Wednesday (6/12) morning.

Air Force Two is expected to arrive at Billings Logan International Airport around 12:05pm before VP Pence heads to Riverstone Health where he will deliver remarks.

Motorcade travel throughout the city will cause various delays on Wednesday. The Montana Department of Transportation has advised the following traffic impacts for Wednesday, June 12:

WESTBOUND I-90 will temporarily CLOSE between the Lockwood Exit #452,  and Zoo Drive Exit #443.  All Westbound on-ramps between Exit 453 and Exit 443 will close as the motorcade passes by. This will last appx. 30 minutes. (Expect 10 minute intervals from one exit to another.)

EASTBOUND I-90 will temporarily CLOSE between the Zoo Drive Exit #443 and King Ave West Exit #446. The Zoo Drive Eastbound on-ramp will be CLOSED as the motorcade leaves Zoo Drive returning to King Ave West.  This will last appx. 20 minutes.

KTVQ reports the block surrounding the Doubletree Hotel will be closed for 24 hours during Vice President Mike Pence's visit to Billings.

During President Trump's overnight visit to Billings in September 2018, a fortress of dump trucks and garbage trucks were used to protect the area around the Doubletree hotel.

The Vice President will be speaking with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Yellowstone Substance Abuse Coalition. He will also visit Willow Way, a group home for patients struggling with addiction.  Wednesday evening, Vice President Pence will join Senator Daines for a private political event.
