The top cowboys from the American and Canadian rodeo standings will once again ride for charity at the 2019 Chase Hawks Memorial Association Roughstock Invitational Rodeo on Dec. 21 at MetraPark.

The 25th anniversary of the Roughstock Invitational is set to take place on the Saturday after the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and will feature 20 of the top cowboys in each event: Bareback Riding, Saddleback Riding, and Bull Riding.  The contractors will bring their finest stock--twenty bareback horses, saddle broncs, and bulls--to give these cowboys a run for their money.

Trust me when I say it’s not an event to miss.  In 2016, I was invited to go to the Roughstock and I was not interested, mainly because I didn’t enjoy the rodeo.  However, the crowd was electric and the arena was alive. Now,  I don’t think I would miss it for the world.  The event itself brought together many people for the noble cause of helping families going through crisis situations.  I have been hooked on the Roughstock since my first visit, and I enjoy going to have fun with friends and see some amazing cowboys come together for a great cause.

This rodeo has been a staple event in Billings since 1995, one year after the tragic death of six-year-old Chase Hawks.  In his memory, the Chase Hawks Memorial Association was formed to raise money for families like Chase’s going through a crisis and needing the support of people willing to lend a hand.  Other events managed by the CHMA include the annual Burn The Point car show and parade that takes place every Labor Day weekend in downtown Billings.

The 25th anniversary of the Chase Hawks Roughstock Rodeo will begin at 7:00 p.m. at First Interstate Arena at MetraPark on Sat., Dec. 21.  You can purchase your tickets online here.  General Admission, Level One seating, and VIP tickets are available.  Children five and under enter for free for General Admission seating.  You can also make a donation directly to the Chase Hawks Memorial Association here.
