Huntley is one of my favorite small towns in Montana. I hope to have a house there someday, but in the meantime, I occasionally take my daughter out to the park and then head over to Cowboy's for a steak. We were both excited to head out for this year's Homesteader Days. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the concerts last Friday night. I've heard nothing but good reviews of Tracy Lawrence, Confederate Railroad and our local guys, The Bucky Beaver Ground Grippers, but I just couldn't make it fit with my work schedule. We did make it out for a few hours on Saturday and loved it.

Homesteader Days should definitely be on your annual event "to-do list" if you're a fan of old fashioned fun. It's one of the few events left that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to take the family to and there is plenty to keep the kids (and the adults) occupied. There were three of us and I spent about 25 bucks for the day, including entry food, and a few games. The money you do spend out there goes to great local causes, like the Lion's Club and local 4-H groups.

Next year, not only do I plan to go, but I also want to test my skills at pig wrestling. Between now and then, I'll make it a mission to put together a team of champions.
