Happy Labor Day

Here's to hoping you got today off like the majority of the nation! You're a hard worker and you deserve it!

Today is Labor Day which is celebrated on the first Monday of September every year. It was no small task to build this country and everything it holds. That why today is dedicated to those men and women who busted their butts specifically for that.

Labor Day was celebrated for the first time in New York City in 1882.  It was originally celebrated on September 5th, but was moved to the first Monday in September in 1884.  Labor Day started out as a state holiday, getting voted in by individual states. As the day gained popularity, Congress declared Labor Day 1894.
