No Inventory

I went to a huge furniture store in Washington while visiting my son last weekend to buy a dresser for him. After finding the one we wanted, we were told they would have to order it in.  So, I asked which one of the 30 on display do you have in stock? They had none.

I thought thats stupid,who wants to shop at a store where you can't get the merchandise?  It's a practice that is becoming more and more common because businesses don't want to tie up any money in inventory.  And now,  being able to shop at your own convenience at home it's no wonder why online shopping is replacing the actual stores.  I can't imagine how many sales are lost because they don't stock their stores.....
