Looking for a Unique Montana Staycation? Sleep in a Luxury Tipi
This Gardiner Glamping Spot Might Be the Only Campground My Wife Will Ever Love
I like camping. But... we don't do it much. I've got all the usual excuses: we don’t own an RV, our tent and sleeping bag situation is not great, and camping with kids is a lot. Plus — and this is a big one — my wife isn’t exactly a fan of sleeping on the ground with no running water, no electricity, no real mattress, and none of the home comforts we take for granted.

So, traditional tent camping? Hard pass.
But glamping? That’s a whole different story. I’m pretty sure my spouse would fall in love with the Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel near Gardiner, MT.
Located just five miles from the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, this unique stay blends the beauty of Big Sky Country with the comfort of boutique lodging, all inside luxurious tipis. This is certainly not roughing it.
Each tipi is thoughtfully designed with heaters, high-end bedding, solid flooring, and curated decor. One look at their website and it’s clear: the only rustic thing about this place is the scenery (which is stunning). The Yellowstone River is just steps away, offering easy access to fishing and peaceful views.
Summer bookings go fast, and for good reason.
I checked availability today, and many nights are already sold out through August. Tipis run around $500 a night during tourist season — but if you’re after comfort, ambiance, and something truly memorable, it could be worth every penny. It appears their offering a 15% discount for bookings in September and October.

A guest from Oregon, Melissa Wood, shared photos from her stay and raved about the experience. “Every night, a bonfire with s’mores and drinks and people from all over the country,” she said. “Epic escape.” Melissa also told me I need to check it out myself.
With a 4.8-star average across 330+ Google Reviews, it’s clear this spot hits the mark for travelers looking for something beyond the usual tent-and-tarp setup. The campground is dog-friendly, too.
Would I stay there? Absolutely. More importantly, so would my non-camping spouse. The Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel is going on our Montana staycation list.
