Wishing For A White Christmas
As I was looking out the window yesterday, I told my husband that I can't believe the difference in weather from December 8th of 2017 to December 8th of 2018.
In December of last year we had over a foot of snow on the ground and now we have no snow (and when we have gotten some, it hasn't been enough to really stick around).
I am not a big cold weather fan (yes I'm living in the wrong state if I don't like the cold).
However, ever since I was s little kid, I didn't care how cold it got at the end of December, as long we had a white Christmas.
Of course as a kid, you needed the snow for your new sled that Santa brought you.
Growing up on the Hi-line we would go ice skating on our reservoir on Christmas Eve under the moonlight as the snow fell.
Dad would build a bonfire and we would have hot chocolate and skate for hours, laughing and enjoying the fresh falling snow getting excited about Santa's visit.
As an adult, I just love to sit with a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine~ a Christmas morning tradition Brett and I have done since we got married almost 20 years ago) I look out over the snow and watch how the sun dances off the snow drifts.
Bottom line, I'm ok with no snow right now, but sure do hope it snows in time for Christmas morning.
