Another Empty Building

G.E. has announced they are leaving Billings.  It’s goodbye to 60 jobs and hello to another 40,000 square foot building that we will be left with.  It was a 9.3 million dollar building that was built with the help of 1.75 million of incentives funded by taxpayers.

Hey City of Billings put your convention center there and a bike path around it.  How in the world are we going to support and maintain a 170 million dollar center in downtown?  We don’t have the population base or commerce to support a project that large.  Learn from the mistakes that others have made and it might prevent future burdens on our town and taxpayer
