I have been in Billings for four weeks now. Trust me when I say that my family and I love it here. Beautiful scenery, wildlife in our back yard, big-town feel with small-town amenities. It's awesome being here.

With that, I take pride in my truck, keeping it nice and clean and something special to me as many people do.

Here at work, I was lucky enough to be gifted one of our parking garage pass keys so that I could park in a place with security cameras, have it covered from the weather, but most of all, be secure and so on.

It is so nice to have that available to me. I am not, of course, complaining about that in particular.

This past week, you see, my truck has been violated not once, but twice. Both Tuesday and Thursday I left the studio to go home -- only to find that the toolbox was broken into while the truck was parked in it's so-called "secure" place. This upsets me to no end. The whole purpose of me parking there is because of the cameras and patrols, but yet, the parking authority knows nothing.

Granted, there is nothing of value in my toolbox. I learned that lesson when I was a kid. Still, I shouldn't have to spend my day worrying that something has happened to my vehicle. I should be focused on bringing you the best radio show I possibly can.

The bottom line is human decency. I would never touch someone's property, let alone try to steal anything from anyone. My father was a police officer while I was growing up. He taught me how to be a good person. I followed in his footsteps for a period of time, going into law enforcement myself.

We have lost so many core values in this country. It makes me sick to know some thief is waiting for me to leave so he or she can steal what I have worked so hard to gain.

I just pray I don't catch them in the act next time.
