Montana: Keeping it Clean in the Bedroom?
Some of you are more adventurous than others in the bedroom, and that's great. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. However, this article isn't about the vanilla (or wild) activities that are occurring behind Montana's closed doors... It's about clean sheets, and specifically, the lack of bed bugs in Big Sky Country.
According to a report from Cinch Home Services, Montana has the second cleanest bed sheets in the nation. The company analyzed Google search data to determine which states are searching for nasty-bed solutions. Using keywords like bed bugs, pink eye, bed bug bites, and pest exterminator (among others), the company used this data to determine who's dealing with bed bugs across the nation.

Residents of Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska seemingly keep their sheets the cleanest, with these states searching for bed bug solutions the least. At the opposite side of the spectrum, folks in Illinois, Ohio, and North Carolina appear to be suffering from pink eye and bed bug bites the most, with nearly double the searches per 100,000 residents than in Montana.
Yes, bed bugs exist in Montana.
These nasty little pests are found in all 50 states. They care little about socio-economics, as they can be found in luxury hotels, college dorms, nursing homes, and, of course, private residences. PestControl.org says the top three locations that exterminators find bed bugs are single-family homes (91 percent), apartments/condominiums (89 percent), and hotels/motels (68 percent).

Clean your sheets.
A representative from Cinch Home Services reminds people to change their bed sheets at least once per week. They note,
We found one in five women change their sheets once a month or even less frequently, whereas for men this is more common - every fourth man leaves their bed sheets unchanged for at least a month. Every 18th person we only change their sheets twice a year.
Twice a year? Gross.
