She’s Big, Black and Beautiful. Adopt Dandelion at YVAS in Billings

As I type, there is a voice whispering in my head, "Michael, you need to adopt this dog." And if we didn't already have three dogs, I probably would. Our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet this week is named Dandelion, and she's very easy to fall in love with.

Dandelion is a two-year-old Cane Corso mix. She's very pretty, sporting a sleek, black coat with a tiny patch of white on her chest. Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter has her weight listed at 58 pounds, but that has got to be a typo. This big dog is probably closer to 85 pounds.

Dandelion is a gentle giant. While she is not a purebred, her Cane Corso genetics are evident. Used as bodyguard dogs in Roman times, the American Kennel Club says the breed is "intelligent, loyal, eager to please, versatile, and intensely loyal to their humans," adding that they are also "assertive and willful, and can end up owning an unwitting owner."

Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at YVAS, said Dandelion enjoyed the car ride to our studios. She knows how to sit on command and is food motivated. She loves getting her butt scratched, and her tiny stub tail responds with animated wiggles.

She reportedly does well with other dogs and respectful children. This big, lovable sweetheart would make a great companion, be it going on adventures together or cuddling on the couch.
