Hey Leadfoot, Ease Up on the Gas Pedal
How fast do you drive? Generally, through town, I obey the speed limit (most times); however, on the open road, I tend to be a little heavy on the gas pedal.
I had to come to Great Falls for some client meetings this week, so of course, you have to get from point A to point B as fast as you can. Needless to say, my leadfoot got me in a little trouble. I won't admit to how fast I was going, but I will say that Joe the Highway Patrolman was super nice and didn't ding me too badly. It could have been a lot worse. I was really glad that Joe was so cool and that what could have been a real bummer was actually a nice experience (outside of the ticket).
I knew when he asked me how my day was, and I said great until I passed you and he laughed, that it was going to be a good experience. I guess if I needed to get pulled over (and deserved to, by the way) I'm glad he was in a good mood and nice to talk to.
When you get pulled over, do you automatically get defensive? Is the Law Enforcement Agent mean? Why not make a bad situation into a good one? Sure, you may get a ticket, but they're just doing their job and if you are speeding, don't you deserve a ticket?
