Highlights of the event include the Scarecrow Ex“straw”vaganza with silent auction; a Celebrity Challenge at 1 p.m. with local celebrities in “Minute to Win It” challenges; and then it’s the Fun Run at Daylis Stadium. Register online at www.billings.k12.mt.us/bpef. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m., warm-up is at 9 a.m., and the 2-mile race begins at 9:15 a.m.
In Addition to the returning favorites there is the haunted house, a zip line, the troll bridge, a climbing wall, face painting and balloon figures, hair painting, football toss, gadget store, brain challenge, dunk booth and mini-golf. Other booths include mask making, fortune telling, duck pond, sand art jewelry and more food than you could ever eat.
Saturday Live continues until 4 p.m. There will be a free shuttle that will get you around; it runs between 30th Street and Ninth Avenue (Billings Clinic parking lot) to Virginia Lane by Pioneer Park. The shuttle runs every 15 to 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This all-day outdoor carnival benefits the 39 Billings-area public schools and the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, so have a ball after all it’s for a good cause, the kids! For more information, call Julie Whitworth, event coordinator of the education foundation, at 245-4133.
