Billings’ Staley’s Tire Joins Les Schwab Family in New Business Deal
Les Schwab Tire Centers is making big moves in Billings, adding two local locations to its roster through the acquisition of Staley’s Tire & Automotive. This expansion brings Les Schwab’s total to three stores in Billings, offering customers more convenience and access across the area. Les Schwab Tire Center entered the Billings market a couple of years ago, with a shop in Shiloh Crossing.
For those who’ve lived in Billings for a while, Staley’s Tire & Automotive has been a familiar and trusted name since 1985. It's where my family buys our tires. Founded by Harry Staley, the family-owned business built a solid reputation, with two locations — one focusing on commercial services on South Frontage Road and the other serving retail customers on Central Avenue. The company employs 26 people.

Les Schwab, founded in 1952, credits communities like Billings for helping them become the powerhouse they are today. "Our commitment to customer service is grounded in our core values of honesty and dedication to the communities where we live and work," said Matt Campbell, Les Schwab Area Manager. "We’re excited to carry forward the 40-year legacy of Staley’s and continue serving the Billings area."
Regarding the acquisition, Harry Staley said in a press release, “We’re thrilled to join the Les Schwab Tires family and gain the resources to better serve our customers and community. That’s been our mission for more than four decades, and we see a real alignment between our values and Les Schwab’s commitment to small-town service that puts the customer first."
The transition will keep Staley’s legacy intact while bringing in the resources of Les Schwab, including their full range of services. Plus, Les Schwab will continue operating the eco-friendly car wash at the South Frontage Road location.

In preparation for today’s official opening, both locations received light updates, with more extensive renovations planned for 2026. All of Staley’s employees have been invited to join the Les Schwab team, and the company is also looking for individuals who want to grow with them.
