Remember when the Billings City Council voted to ban the use of hand held cell phones and everybody thought it was a great idea?  Except for Mark and Paul.  Hate to say we told you so, but a new study indicates that prohibiting the use of hand-held cell phones poses a greater risk to drivers.

This is according to AAA, who compared hand held cell phone use with several blue tooth and voice activated devices offered by major vehicle manufacturers.  Turns out that drivers are more distracted using "hands free" devices than they are when they actually talk on the phone. Mark believes this is because people have been holding phones for their entire lives.  We're used to multi-tasking with a phone in our hand.  Getting those "hands free" devices to actually work is far more complicated, especially for us "middle aged" folks.

Does this mean the City Council will reverse their ruling?  Not a chance.  They satisfied their constituents and they're not going to let actual research convince them otherwise.
