Sweet Treats for the Street. Billings Getting Tasty New Food Trucks.
The food truck trend has been exploding around Yellowstone County over the past few years, and in 2022 there are several new eateries about to take their treats to the street.
According to the @DoughnutBarnMT Instagram page, a new truck serving "homemade mini-doughnuts made with local ingredients" will hit the streets of Billings this Spring.
The Doughnut Barn will begin excepting orders for their Montana Made delectables on May 1 and will have a menu of mini-doughnuts in 12 featured flavors including Reese’s Pieces, Blueberry Pancake, Cinnamon Sugar, Huckleberry Jam, and Oreo Crumble.
A post on The Doughnut Barn Instagram page says their treats are made with "local free-range eggs, Western Sugar sugar, and Wheat Montana flour."
A new food trailer featuring "icebox cakes" will hit the streets of Billings beginning this Saturday. Nichole Hamnes, owner of Luscious Layers says her no-bake desserts begin with "a cookie crust, followed by a cheesecake filling, pudding, whipped cream, and various other sundae toppings."
Luscious Layers will have their grand opening at the Monkey Around Luau at 605 24th Street West this Saturday (4/9) beginning at 11:30 am.
A weekly summer schedule will be shared on their Facebook and Instagram pages which can be located by searching @LusciousLayersMT.
Another food truck offering "homemade on the go" is about to start rolling around Yellowstone County with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Max Shack is "fast food with a homemade twist" and will offer biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, burgers, baked mac and cheese, homemade fries, and more.
