Laurel Taco Eaters: You’re Going to Love This News
Guys. You have no idea how excited I was when I saw this Facebook post pop up in my feed last night. One of my absolute favorite local taco trucks is getting a brick-and-mortar location in Laurel. La Taqueria is coming soon to the former Red Rooster Kitchen spot on the corner of 4th and Main.

I'm definitely not the only person who loves La Taqueria.
La Taqueria has won several local food competitions, including Judges Choice at Tacos and Tequila, and Billings Best Burrito by Magic City's Best. PLUS, they were finalists at the World Food Championship in 2025.
Some people in the Treasure State seem to enjoy complaining about how "there's no good Mexican food in Montana." If you're one of those people, do yourself a favor and try La Taqueria. Owner Miguel Hernandez and his family bring the traditional flavors and style of Tijuana street tacos (and so much more) to the Billings area, and they knock it out of the park.

Hernandez said it's been their plan to open a storefront for some time now, originally considering options in the Heights. The cost was too prohibitive, so they expanded their search west, finding a "perfect" spot in Laurel.

The forthcoming La Taqueria, at 401 E Main in Laurel, will have primarily takeout and delivery, along with a large seating area that will be used as a place to have parties or meetings on a reservation basis. "We are beyond excited to have this opportunity here in Laurel," Miguel added. They're hoping to open by early spring.
Exciting things are happening in Laurel, MT
Despite a row of noticeably vacant retail spots on Main Street, there are several new developments underway in Laurel. Redemption Off The Rails, a new bar, restaurant, and casino, is nearing completion in the former Owl Cafe location.
Last time we checked, Bozeman-based Mr. Burrito is moving into the former Your Pie location, and the local rumor mill is reporting that a new bank will be going up where Hardee's once was, next to Albertsons.
As a Mexican food-loving Laurelite, I can not wait to welcome La Taqueria to our growing little community. ¡Bienvenidos a la ciudad!
