Handsome ‘Ghost’ is Billings’ Featured Adoptable Dog This Week
If you are looking for a big, beautiful, four-legged friend that's not afraid of chilly Montana winters, you've got to check out Ghost, our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. This handsome fella has a lot to offer.
Ghost is a seven-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who recently arrived at the shelter as a stray. He was picked up on the loose with his "brother" Gerald. This handsome dog is tall, with a thick, long, white coat and distinctive black markings around his face and eyes.

Ghost has heterochromia.
Now, that might sound like a scary health condition, but it's not. Heterochromia is the technical term for an animal that has two different eye colors.
Heterochromia is typically harmless and certainly unique. In fact, some Native cultures referred to dogs with two different eye colors as "ghost dogs." Maybe that's how our featured adoptable pet this week got his name?
Ghost would love to fit in with you and your household.
Ghost loves riding in the car. He enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well in a household with children or cats, said Izzy Zalenski, Community Engagement Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

At seven, he's got plenty of life ahead of him, yet is well past the hyperactive puppy stage. He was calm and well-mannered on his in-studio visit today.
Happy birthday to YVAS!
Can you believe that Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is turning 18 this year? And what a year it's been. You can help them celebrate with a fun casino-themed party on November 30th at Bark Park, 1215 Monad Road.
The YVAS birthday party is BYOB, and snacks are welcome too. It is also dog-friendly. Watch the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter Facebook page for details and more information.
Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is closed for cleaning on Wednesdays, but open regular hours the rest of the week at its current temporary location at 6400 S. Frontage Road.
Thank you, Shipton's Big R, for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area.
