I took my oldest son to a store in the Heights last night when something strange happened.

As we were walking up an aisle, a nice lady stopped us and asked me if I worked Cat Country. I sheepishly said that I did and we talked for a few. I shook her hand and thanked her for listening. We then went on our way.

No big deal,right?

Well, as my son and I were walking away I noticed that something was bothering him so I asked him what was wrong. He said that as this lady and I were talking he saw that there were other people looking and whispering as he described it. He then said that he felt a little embarrassed by the way I reacted to what she said because I looked like a dork. This was odd because he is normally my biggest supporter. I felt bad that he was uncomfortable at that moment.

When we got home I told the story to my wife and we began discussing all the times that our parents embarrassed us. This was just a new phase for him. Let me tell you we had story after story of things that our parents had done that made us go red-faced and we laughed for a while about them.

In what ways did you parents embarrass you? 406-248-5665
