Meet Jake: A Sweet Boy, Ready for a Forever Home in Billings

Do you remember that old Country song from the Pirates of the Mississippi called 'Feed Jake'? It's a sad one about a man asking for someone to feed his beloved dog, Jake, if he dies in his sleep. The chorus goes like this,

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Feed Jake
He's been a good dog
My best friend right through it all
If I die before I wake
Feed Jake

I had that song playing in my head today when we met our featured Wet Nose Wednesday pet, Jake.

Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, said Jake does well with other dogs at the shelter, he seems to behave well around cats, and he's easy to walk on a leash, sticking close to your legs.

The shelter always has a rotating mix of adorable adoptable dogs, but currently, they are overflowing with cats. Including kittens, adult cats, and felines in their Barn Cat program. If you're looking for a new kitty, drop by YVAS.

My spouse jokes that when she wins the lottery, we're going to buy an acreage and rescue all the dogs. Until that day, we're at max capacity on pets at our house.
