Should Halloween Really Be A Holiday?
Why is Halloween a Holiday? What are we celebrating on this day? The birth of a witch? I am really confused here…Halloween is an event. Valentine’s Day is an event. We don’t get the day off on Halloween, we’re working. You’re working. And apparently people are coming out of their holiday coma because holiday spending on Halloween is down.
That’s according to a survey from the National Retail Federation who report that spending and participation will be down this year. Only 158 million people are expected to celebrate the birth of witches and ghosts.
Maybe people have finally recognized they are being ripped off for this so called Holiday… no day off with pay. No closed schools, post office, library…that’s what constitutes a Holiday.
What do you think folks? Should we be calling Halloween a holiday?
